Landmarks' Operation C.A.R.E. helps resident with new porch

Beautiful neighborhoods start with healthy partnerships. When a neighbor's recent health and safety grant request was beyond the funding capacity TCDC's grant capacity, we reached out to our friends at Thomasville Landmarks. They quickly responded and the work was completed within weeks.

Thomasville Landmarks' Operation C.A.R.E. (Community Assisting Restoration Efforts) helps owners of historic homes with low or fixed incomes make extensive exterior improvements to their home.

According to Landmarks' website, "In its over 20 year history, over 55 structures have been repaired and painted by more than 1500 volunteers. More than $185,000 committed in grants, donations and services have resulted in over $600,000 worth of historic preservation."

In addition to beautifying the neighborhood and making homes safer for residents, TCDC's Neighborhood Impact Grant program also contracts with neighborhood-based businesses, generating wealth and building businesses in our community. Shout out to Willie Warren of W Warren Enterprises for the beautiful work on this one.
